Who Are the Aghori?
The Aghori are a small yet highly distinctive sect of Hindu ascetics devoted to Lord Shiva , particularly his manifestation as Mahakala , the Lord of Time and Death. Known for their unconventional and often shocking practices, the Aghori aim to transcend worldly attachments and confront the impermanence of life by embracing what society typically shuns or fears.
